Why you should be excited for the upcoming canning retreat
I know what you're thinking, how can we possibly be thinking about a canning retreat this summer when it's only March? Well friends, I'm hosting a retreat again this summer and it takes PLANNING. Even though September 7-10th sounds far away, it's just 6 months!
Last year was the first ever canning and preserving retreat (that I've ever heard of anyway) that I put together. This was a super small niche event with women from all over the country who gathered for a fun filled weekend to learn all about preserving and canning. We talked about safety, had guest speakers, and covered as many topics as we could, while also making it enjoyable.
Here's a quick overview of what we learned about: Safety in preserving taught by a USU Extension agent, jams and jellies, bottled fruit, all things tomatoes, and pressure canning 101. Each class was hands on and used local ingredients grown within an hour radius of Ogden, UT.
The guests last year had seen a few of the local places that I love, so we made time on the last day to visit Smith and Edwards (largest canning section of any store in Utah!), the local hot springs near Ogden Valley and just relax!
You all know that I love food. I love GOOD FOOD. Healthful, bright flavored, best of the best food...and my good friends Shauna and Hannah DELIVERED. The food was made from scratch with an emphasis on preserved items. The made the most beautiful charcuterie boards, breads, baked salmon, biscuits, and too many others to list. It was everything I hoped for and more.
So, now that you know some of the amazing things that happened at the retreat, I'm sure you're chomping at the bit to figure out a way to be there!

Due to the complex nature of running a small intimate retreat like this, refunds will not be issued.
