Perfectly Preserved Podcast Ep 39 - Steam Juicing and Why You Should Do It

Steam juicing is one of the quickest ways to extract juice from fruit. Never heard of a steam juicer? You're not alone. I didn't hear about one until I was about 30 years old.

A steam juicer is a three part system or colanders, juice collecting pot and water basin at the bottom. Most steam juicers can hold a large amount of fruit and steam out the juice within 40 minutes. It's easy and pretty hands off. The only tricky part comes at the end when you have to unclamp the rubber hose and CAREFULLY drain the juice into either a jar or a pot.

The price is also very beginner friendly. I've found all 3 of mine at yard sales or thrift stores. I usually replace the hoses because over time the plastic can wear down and possibly crack. To replace a hose it will run you a whopping $5.

We hope you enjoy this episode and will consider getting a steam juicer for your summer bountiful harvest!
