THERE ARE MORE THAN 1000 DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF CHERRIES!
From Lamberts to Lapins to Rainers and Royal Anns, there are more than 500 varieties of sweet cherries, and almost as many tart ones. But only a small percentage—around 20 or so altogether—are used in commercial production.
For this cherry class we will be making and canning cherry pie filling and dehydrating cherries. You will learn how to can and preserve cherries safely, my favorite tools for cherry pitting, and what to look for in a dehydrator. Each participant will go home with a quart jar of cherry pie filling and any recipes associated with the class.
